2024-25 new student pre-registration
-
Pre-registration for the 2024-25 school year is now open.
Students can enroll in kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year if they turn 5 on or before September 1, 2024.
Enrolling your student is a four-step process. Please follow the directions below.
1. Confirm your residency
Please click here and enter your address to confirm your home is within CCSD 89 boundaries. The district will also need to confirm your home is in CCSD 89 boundaries (step 3).
Please note: These boundaries do not guarantee placement in your home school. Learn more about the District's Administrative Transfer policy.
2. Complete pre-registration through PowerSchool Enrollment
Parents need to begin the pre-registration process by creating an account through PowerSchool Enrollment. You will be asked to provide basic demographic data on you and your student during this process. Please click the button below to start the pre-registration process. Instructions are available in English and Spanish.

3. Proof of residency
Once you have completed the pre-registration through PowerSchool, you must next verify your child’s age and that you live in the district’s boundaries. Pre-registration is not complete until you have submitted an original birth certificate and the proof-of-residency documents.
When pre-registration is complete, families should call their school to schedule an appointment to submit residency documents. Staff will be available from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, to accept residency documents. (March 1 is a Teacher Institute Day with no students in school.) If you cannot submit documents on March 1, families should call the school or district office (22w600 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn) to make an appointment to drop off the documents.
All families must bring an original birth certificate to the school or the district office. Birth certificates cannot be submitted electronically.
Families need to bring the following:
- ORIGINAL birth certificate with the seal (copies are not accepted)
- Proof of residency:
- Category 1 (must provide ONE document)
- Current mortgage statement
- Signed lease
- Real-estate tax bill
- (If an affidavit from a local resident who attests to the registrant living with them at no cost is submitted, the homeowner is still required to provide one of the Category 1 documents.)
- Category 1 (must provide ONE document)
AND:
- Category 2 (must provide TWO documents) - must be current
- Current gas, electric, or water bill
- Driver’s license
- Home/apartment rental insurance papers
- Illinois Registration Identification Card for your vehicle (it looks like this)
- Voter registration
You will not be able to complete the full registration process until you have proven residency and been provided a "SnapCode" by the district office.
4. Receive SnapCode to complete registration April 3
Once all residency documents are received, families will be mailed a “SnapCode” that is used to complete registration on April 3.
Your child’s enrollment will not be guaranteed until the entire registration process has been completed and submitted. Once you have submitted your online information any additions or changes need to be communicated through your child's school office.
Please submit all required physical, dental and vision forms to your child's school as soon as possible.
