Power restored at Arbor View
Power has been restored at Arbor View. The Community Consolidated School District 89 buildings and grounds team has checked the school. All of the phone and emergency systems are functioning. We are scheduled to hold a regular school day at Arbor View on Thursday.

Donate a gift card to help a CCSD 89 family in need
This year, the district will once again be collecting gift cards to benefit the families of children in CCSD 89 schools.

FirstView app will help CCSD 89 families keep up with student bus travel
Many CCSD 89 families will now be able to track their student’s trips to and from school through a free busing app. Parents can download the FirstView app, which will give them access to real-time information about their student’s bus stops.

Suggestion boxes gives students more opportunities for input
Suggestion boxes are now available at all five CCSD 89 schools. Students can share their ideas for how they would make their school better by dropping a card into the box.

Glen Crest Middle School will host a blood drive from 2 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13. The blood drive is open to the community. Anyone who donates on November 13 will receive a $10 gift card to Colonial Café.

CCSD 89 Music Boosters begin membership drive
The CCSD 89 Music Boosters Association has begun its annual membership drive. There are two ways to become a member of the Music Boosters.

Music Boosters selling poinsettias, wreaths, garlands
Parents and staff members can support CCSD 89 musicians at all levels by ordering poinsettias, wreaths, or garlands from the Music Boosters Association. Orders for wreaths are due October 24. Orders for poinsettias and plants are due November 15.

Reminder: All CCSD 89 schools will be closed on Tuesday, November 5, for a Teacher Institute Day. Schools will resume on a normal schedule on November 6.

Glen Crest students collecting supplies to donate to soldiers
Community members can show their support for soldiers serving overseas by donating supplies at Glen Crest Middle School, 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn. Donations will be accepted through Friday, November 1.

Friday, October 11, is a half-day (morning attendance) for all students. All CCSD 89 schools are closed Monday, October 14, for Columbus Day.
