Keep reading! Park View, Glen Ellyn libraries will have books for CCSD 89 students
The Park View library will be open to any CCSD 89 student from 8 to 11 am. Monday through Friday to read or check out any Park View books.

The district has added an additional informational meeting on June 15 where community members can learn more about the school bond referendum.

June 24 fundraiser event will support Glen Crest tutoring program
The community is invited to the Glen Ellyn Children’s Resource Center’s "Dare to Dream" 20th-anniversary celebration and fundraiser, on June 24 at the historic Glen Ellyn Boathouse.

Registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open
Registration for the 2022-23 school year is open. It is critical that all new and returning students complete registration as soon as possible.

Schools will collect devices from first-, fifth-, and eighth-grade students
Students in other grades will keep their devices over the summer. During that time, devices should be used for learning.

Board unanimously approves putting infrastructure bond referendum on June ballot
The bonds would be used to improve educational environments and safety systems at all five schools while providing property-tax relief to residents.

Band and orchestra students from fifth through eighth grades will perform in upcoming concerts at Glenbard South.

At 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, the CCSD 89 Board of Education will hold a meeting at the CCSD 89 District Office.

Donate blood at Glen Crest on May 11 and get free Summerfest ticket
Community members are invited to support the urgent need for blood by donating between 2 and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at Glen Crest Middle School.

Seventh-grade students can now apply to be one of the 2022-23 Student Representatives to the Board of Education.

The district will hold three community meetings for the public to learn more about the bond referendum and ask questions.

Summer school applications will be open through April 27
CCSD 89 is offering expanded summer school for kindergarten-through-seventh-grade students. The deadline to complete the form is 8 p.m. April 27.

Elementary students can kick up their boots at April 29 dance
The “Boots and Buddies” dance will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Glen Crest Middle School, 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn.

Glen Crest students honored for participating in Spartacus Reading Challenge
Congratulations to the 11 Glen Crest students who read seven or more of the novels that were chosen for this year’s Spartacus Reading Challenge.

Enjoy student musical performances and breakfast at the Music Café on April 9
Elementary and middle-school band, orchestra, and choral students will perform at the Music Café from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 9, at Glen Crest.

"SnapCodes" needed for registration will be arriving in mail
All families should soon receive a letter with an individualized “SnapCode” that will be used to register for the 2022-23 school year.

Seventh-, eighth-grade girls basketball teams earn conference titles
It was a very successful season for Glen Crest girls basketball as both the seventh- and eighth-grade teams earned regular season and conference tournament championships.

Glen Crest musicians earn first-place honors at state competition
More than 30 Glen Crest band and orchestra students earned first-place honors at the recent Illinois Grade School Music Association solo and ensemble contest.
