The CCSD 89 Technology Department supports student learning by equitably allocating technology resources that can be alongside best instructional practices to help meet the needs of every single learner. The goal of the CCSD 89 Technology Department is to provide technology tools, support, and innovative experiences for both students and teachers.
The technology team helps deploy and manage more than 2,500 student and staff devices. CCSD 89 is committed to the use of technology to enhance learning opportunities to help every single student develop the skills of inventive thinking, effective communication, and digital-age literacy for creating innovative solutions to real-world problems. It is essential that students learn to use technology effectively and ethically so they can be contributing members of a global community.
The team is also responsible for the student information system, which is one of the primary database systems used throughout the district. By using technology to analyze student data – academic, demographic, and behavioral – CCSD 89 is better able to identify emerging student needs, both for opportunities and interventions.

The Technology Department is led by Ian Vonesh.
Ian Vonesh is the Director of Technology for Community Consolidated School District 89.
Vonesh joined the CCSD 89 Technology Department in 2016. He holds technology certifications from Apple, Google, Dell, and other service providers.
After starting his career in finance, he shifted to working in technology. He ran an Apple Authorized Service Provider, where he managed a team that repaired hardware and software for Apple products. He has also been a technology consultant for special projects and technical project management.
