Chorus in CCSD 89

  • Glen Crest chorus

Students in Community Consolidated School District 89 have the opportunity to participate in chorus starting in fourth grade and continuing through eighth grade.

    Elementary chorus

Chorus is open to all fourth and fifth graders. It meets before school one day per week from 8 to 8:40 a.m. Chorus members perform three times throughout the school year: once in December, once at the district's Choral Festival in March, and once in May.

    Middle school chorus

Chorus at Glen Crest is open to all students and sings a variety of popular and choral music repertoire throughout the year. Two choirs rehearse separately twice per week before school: sixth-grade and seventh/eighth-grade. The chorus performs a fall concert combined with the Glenbard South High School choruses in October, winter and spring concerts in December and May, and participates in the district's Choral Festival in March. Chorus also performs at sporting and community events, goes on trips to choral music festivals, travels to Glenbard South High School, and visits CCSD 89 elementary schools. Seventh- and eighth-grade chorus members also have the opportunity to audition for ILMEA and ACDA Honor choirs.
