“SnapCodes” used for April 5 registration will begin arriving in the mail
It is important that families hold onto this letter because the SnapCode will be needed when registration opens at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 5.

Join CCSD 89 in donating to Make-A-Wish
The district has once again set a goal to raise at least $5,000. Altogether, the district has raised more than $28,000 for Make-A-Wish Illinois.

Learn more about CCSD 89 preschool at open house on April 11
After a brief presentation, parents will be able to talk with teachers and visit the preschool classrooms.

Enjoy student musical performances at the Music Café on April 15
Band, orchestra, and chorus students will perform. Guests will be able to enjoy coffee and a continental breakfast.

Sign up by March 16 to share your family’s story at the Cultural Fair
The event will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Glen Crest Middle School. The Glen Crest gym will be filled with families sharing their cultural heritage.

Glen Crest students will perform ‘Little Mermaid Jr.’ March 17-19
Performances at 7 p.m. Friday, March 17; 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, March 18; and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19.

CCSD 89 students earn honors at IGSMA music competition
More than 30 band and orchestra students earned first- or second-place honors at the recent Illinois Grade School Music Association solo and ensemble contest.

Pre-registration for 2023-24 kindergartners and new students is now open
Families with students who will be starting kindergarten or new to Community Consolidated School District 89 in the 2023-24 school year can now begin the pre-registration process.

Deadline extended to accept 2023-24 preschool applications
Families interested in having their child start CCSD 89 preschool in the 2023-24 school year can now load application documents.

CCSD 89 Board approves 2023-24 school year calendar
The first day of the 2023-24 school year for students will be Wednesday, August 23. The last day of the 2023-24 school year will be May 29, 2024, if no emergency days are used.

Free Noodles & Company entrée if you donate blood March 15
Community members can support the urgent need for blood by donating between 2 and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at Glen Crest Middle School.

Park View Elementary will host free tax filing event on February 26
College of DuPage students will help prepare tax forms from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Park View Elementary School.

CCSD 89 afterschool activities are canceled for February 16
Cancelations includes CCSD 89 athletic events, practices, club meetings, and any PTC-sponsored student events.

All schools closed Monday, February 20, for President’s Day
All buildings will be open on a regular schedule on Tuesday, February 21.

Experienced administrator will be next Glen Crest Middle School principal
Brett McPherson was approved as the next Glen Crest principal during the Board of Education meeting on Monday, January 23. He will start on July 1.

School community can make confidential reports of crises, threats, and bullying through Safe2Help
Students and families can confidentially call, email, or text the Safe2Help tip line whenever they have information the school needs to know.

Pre-registration for 2023-24 kindergartners and new students will open February 8
Families with students who will be new to CCSD 89 in 2023-24 can begin the pre-registration process February 8. Registration for returning students will open April 5.

CCSD 89 Conversations: Learn about academic interventions at noon or 6 p.m. February 9
Superintendent Dr. Emily Tammaru will present information about the academic interventions the district uses to support struggling and soaring learners.

Board will meet February 4 to discuss superintendent search
Representatives from the firm will present their initial summary of the feedback gathered at the community, staff, and student forums.
