The district shares fliers from outside organizations through the online backpack. The district only shares fliers from non-profit community organizations that are hosting events that might be of interest to CCSD 89 students or their families.
The district does not post commercial fliers and reserves the right to reject any fliers. To have your organization's flier considered, email info@ccsd89.org.

Raider Pride Night at Glenbard South (September 13)
CCSD 89 students who wear their school colors can get in free to the Glenbard South football game on September 13, which is “Raider Pride” night. CCSD 89 students who go to the game are invited to form part of the tunnel for players to run through. All students must be accompanied by an adult.

NAMI DuPage Run for the Mind 5K (September 14)
Run or walk on our USATF-certified 5K course, winding through scenic natural areas within the DuPage County Fairgrounds and government center. Not up for the 5K? Join the 1-mile color run, hosted by National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) DuPage, Serenity House, and the Prevention Leadership Team. After crossing the finish line, refuel with a post-race breakfast included for all participants, and available for donation to race spectators. Light refreshments will be available at our post-race recovery area.

Fall Craft Fair (September 14)
At the Glen, located on the corner of Butterfield and 53. Shop more than 30 local crafters and vendors! While you shop at the Glenbriar Park, you can take a stroll along the paved path and test yourself on the challenge course. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. September 14.

Cub Scout packs 55 and 382 new family donut hike (September 22)
Families interested in joining or learning more about Cub Scouts are invited to attend upcoming events with local packs 55 and 382. Cub Scouts welcomes boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. Interested families are invited to attend:

Glen Ellyn Pioneer Days (September 29)
Come see what life was like for the early settlers of Glen Ellyn, on the same spot where early residents lived. Try to be a pioneer in an 1840s life. There are live farm animals, music, craft-making for kids, candle making, corn shelling, apple peeling, pioneer games and toys. Learn how to do laundry 1840s style, experience 1840s school in an outdoor classroom, tour the Tavern, and much, much more! This year's Pioneer Day will be free of charge thanks to a generous donation from the Glen Ellyn Bank and Trust, which is sponsoring the event!
The location is Historic Stacy’s Corners, 800 N. Main Street, Glen Ellyn. Pioneer Day opens at 1 p.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. Call (630) 469-1867. Check website at www.gehs.org.

Glen Ellyn Raider basketball tryouts (end of September)
This program is for 5th-8th grade boys and girls who will be attending Glenbard South High School. Tryouts will be held at Glenbard South High School near the end of September. Support group for families of children with autism
Wheaton Library has a support group for parents of children with autism that meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month, in person at the library. It is facilitated by North Shore Pediatric Therapy and Bite-Sized Beginnings. CCSD 89 preschool developmental screenings
Community Consolidated School District 89 conducts developmental screening periodically during the school year for children from the age of 2 years 10 months through 5 years old. The screening includes the use of the Ages & Stages Questionnaire 3rd Ed., Ages & Stages: Social-Emotional 2nd Ed., and play-based assessment of developmental skills. Community Partners Play Date at Wheaton library (monthly)

Helps DuPage County residents apply for medical financial assistance programs (does not pay bills). Available to people with and without insurance. All past and present medical bills qualify for review, including hospital, ambulance, doctor's office, and those in collection. Services are free; provided in-person or virtually with appointments available.

DuPage Health Coalition: Health services for uninsured and limited income
Access DuPage coordinates low-cost comprehensive health care, including primary and specialty care, medication, and hospital services for those who don’t have a pathway to insurance, thanks to the help of community partners and volunteers.

DuPage Dispensary of Hope: Free pharmacy for uninsured
Struggling to pay for medication? The DuPage Dispensary of Hope may be able to help. The DuPage Health Coalition is partnering with DuPage County to offer this service at no charge to those who qualify. If you are low-income and uninsured some of your medications may be available for free.
