Archived superintendent committees

  • At certain times, the superintendent has formed committees to study district issues and make recommendations to the Board of Education.

These committees are made up of community members and staff, who work together to examine the impact of various situations. All committees are advisory and any recommendations are non-binding. All final decisions are made by the Board of Education.

These committees typically disband after their work is completed. This site preserves the work of those committees.

Boundary, Finance, and Strategic Plan committees

In September 2016, the district formed three short-term Superintendent committees: the Strategic Plan Committee, the Enrollment Committee, and the Finance Committee. In 2017, the Enrollment Committee was reformed as the Boundary Committee.

The purpose of each of these committees was to study specific issues affecting Community Consolidated School District 89.

  • Community Engagement Committee

From January through March of 2018, the Superintendent's Finance Committee met to discuss the district's current financial status, evaluate the district's financial projections, provide feedback on potential cost-saving measures, and help plan for the district's future financial security.

In March of 2018, the committee presented its conclusions to the Board of Education.

In April 2018, many of the members of the Finance Committee joined the Community Engagement Committee. The Community Engagement Committee worked to engage all CCSD 89 residents in a process that helped to set the financial direction of the district, and resulted in a recommendation to the Board of Education to place a referendum on the ballot.
