In January 2022, Community Consolidated School District 89 convened an advisory committee to review long-term plans for maintaining the district’s buildings and grounds.
The Finance Committee includes CCSD 89 staff members, two CCSD 89 Board Members, community members, and representatives from all five CCSD 89 schools. The Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations and the Director of Buildings and Grounds are part of the committee.
Members of the Finance Committee will review the district’s master facility plan then evaluate options for maintaining current structures and updating mechanical systems in the buildings. There will also be opportunities for the larger community to provide input on these issues. This feedback will also be considered by the committee.
The committee could issue an initial report or recommendation to the Board of Education in February 2022.
The Finance Committee is an advisory committee and any recommendations are non-binding. All final decisions are made by the Board of Education.
