Mrs. Lauren Semorile

Mrs. Semorile is originally from Rochester, Michigan, but she moved to Chicago in 2010 to attend DePaul University. She graduated from DePaul University in 2014 with degrees in elementary education and sociology, and middle school endorsements in social sciences and language arts. She began her teaching career in Chicago's South Loop neighborhood, where she taught third and fifth grade for six years.

In 2019, she graduated with her masters degree in education in curriculum and instruction from Loyola University Chicago. Throughout her graduate program, she spent a great deal of time researching—and incorporating into practice—culturally responsive pedagogy and best practices in mathematics and literacy instruction. Her preferred instructional strategy is the workshop model, where primary instruction occurs in mini-lessons and differentiated/targeted instruction occurs in small groups and with individual students.

Mrs. Semorile joined the Glen Crest family in 2019, and she teaches three sections of sixth grade literacy. She's thrilled to continue her teaching career at the middle school level, and is excited to assist all of her students in reaching their fullest potential. Mrs. Semorile is passionate about sharing her love of reading and writing with her students every day!
