Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Sterba

I have been teaching Family and Consumer Sciences since 2014.

I attended Illinois State University where I received my bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Political Science. I earned my master's degree in teaching at Olivet Nazarene University, with an emphasis in Family and Consumer Sciences. While attending graduate school at night, I attended Moraine Valley Community College during the day and completed several Culinary Arts courses.

I hold a ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification and I am certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health in Food Service Sanitation. In addition, I have an ESL endorsement from American College of Education and LBS1 endorsement from St. Francis University.

I have played volleyball since my own middle school years and continue to play today in adult leagues. I run the Glen Crest Cooking Club. I love to read, shop, attend concerts, watch sports, and, of course, bake. During 2021, I opened up my own small baking business inspired by my students: Ms. Sterba's Kitchen, LLC.

The best time to reach me is after school.
