Mrs. Amy Switzer

My name is Amy Switzer, and I'm thrilled to be teaching seventh grade social studies here at Glen Crest Middle School! I've been teaching at Glen Crest since 1998. I am passionate about history and love teaching students how events from long ago still impact their worlds today.

When I'm not at school, you can find me at home with my two children, my husband (who is a teacher as well!), and our dog Bauer. :)

We have an exciting year planned!  I know, I know.....you're thinking that you are sick and tired of learning about the Boston Tea Party and the Oregon Trail but you haven't learned about them like you will this year. This year, we're going to look at American history with a new perspective.  We'll look at the people (and their personalities, dreams, and amazing ideas) who helped to not only form this country, but those who continued to make it great. We'll look at the various points of view that impacted decisions and actions. We will also look at the role geography, economics, politics, and much more will play in shaping our nation's history.  While the glorious days of ancient Greece and Rome are gone, hopefully you'll see that American history is pretty exciting too!
