Ms. Janell Larson, MSW, LCSW

I am incredibly passionate about the field of social work, from direct practice to aspects that impact our macro system. I earned my Bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Sociology at Northern Illinois University and my Master of Social Work degree from Aurora University with a specialization in clinical and school social work. In addition, I hold a license to practice privately in the state of Illinois, a certificate in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy and am certified to administer the Safe and Sound Protocol, a therapy used in the private practice setting implementing aspects of polyvagal theory. I have professional experience in crisis intervention/risk assessment, clinical mental health assessment, clinical social work in the private practice setting, as well as working as a part of a multidisciplinary team within the school setting. I entered the field of education in 2012, and working with a district that shares my dedication and drive to assist students in seeing their abilities is truly fulfilling. It is my mission to ensure your child feels safe and welcome at school, and I am motivated to work together in maintaining or reigniting your child's passion for learning.
