-
Antonio Diaz is the assistant principal at Glen Crest Middle School.
Diaz earned his bachelor's degree from Benedictine University in Spanish and Secondary Education, then earned his ESL/bilingual education endorsement from Illinois State University. He earned a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Concordia University and is working on his doctorate.
He started his teaching career at Eisenhower Junior High in Hoffman Estates, where he worked as an English language learner teacher, language arts teacher, dual language teacher, and reading interventionist. Prior to starting at Glen Crest in 2021, Diaz was a dean at Leman Middle School in West Chicago.
Diaz became interested in working in education as a way to help students who don’t always know where to turn for help at school. He loves working with middle school students because there’s “never a boring day.”
“I have so many conversations where students amaze me and change my perspective,” he said. “I learn as much from them as I hope they learn from me.”
