ping pong balls

All Glen Crest students will have chance to win a cafeteria cookie every day for the rest of the school year in the first-ever Ping Pong Race.

During lunch periods April 13 through April 18, students will have the chance to purchase a ping pong ball for $2. Each ping pong ball is numbered and at the school assembly on Friday, April 17, the balls will be dumped on a track. The first ping pong ball to land in the winner’s spot wins a cookie every day for the rest of the school year.

The district’s two Student Board Members, Olivia Loftsgaarden and Skylar Usalis, have organized the fundraising competition. The ping pong ball race will replace ‘Penny Wars’ at the middle school.

Based on votes by students, all funds raised this year will go to Phil’s Friends, an organization that creates care packages for people going through cancer treatment.
