The Glen Crest eighth-grade boys basketball team will go into the conference tournament as regular-season champions. The Spartans finished the regular season 10-2 (8-2 in conference games) to earn the DuPage Metro Valley Association regular-season title. 
Glen Crest will compete in the conference tournament on Tuesday and Thursday.
Glen Crest tied with Herrick and Westlake middle schools for the regular-season title. The Spartans won one game and lost one game against both Herrick and Westlake.
“We had a lot of very exciting, very close games this year,” said Glen Crest coach Danny Sheridan. “It’s just a great group of guys who enjoyed working hard and really got along.”
The eighth-grade team includes: Johnny Baldauf, Frankie Cassata, Tim Ewald, Hunter Fort, Evan Goldman, Devin Knight, PJ Lehr, Gavin Pogorzelski, Sam Rickert, Henry Riley, Aarush Singh, Dylan Taylor, Cecil Tousant, and TJ Williams.
