Mrs. Gina Lydon

My name is Gina Lydon and I have been fortunate to be part of the Briar Glen community for over 30 years.  Before becoming an interventionist, I taught first, second, & third grade.  As an interventionist, my job is to support kindergarten through fifth-grade students in reading and math. I love this role because it allows me to work with students in small groups across the whole school.  My favorite part as the interventionist is watching the students gain confidence in their skills and apply their learning back into the classroom.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  I spend most of my summers in Northern Wisconsin enjoying the beautiful woods, lakes and wildlife.  I like to relax by reading good books, going for long walks, and cheering for Chicago sports teams with my family.  I am also learning how to golf, so one day I can be confident by applying my skills to golf courses all over.  It has been a great reminder of how it feels to be a student and trying to achieve my goals.

I hope to share my love of learning and make a positive impact on my students here at Briar Glen. Please reach out if there is anything else I can do to support your student's learning!
