Welcome 2021-2022 school year at Westfield! I am excited to be working with your child to enhance their English language and understanding of academic vocabulary during this school year!
For the past five years, I have been teaching at Westfield, enjoying multiple roles. I worked with Ms. Martino in the Modified Special Education room, have been the lead coordinator of the Inside Out Club, and currently have the satisfying role of being the EL teacher. Before coming to Westfield, I taught special education in a private school in Glen Ellyn, along with working as a developmental therapist in early intervention with children birth to three years old.
Working with children from diverse backgrounds in multiple settings has led me to the EL teaching position at Westfield. I am so happy to get to know your children and to help them feel as comfortable as possible in the English Language among their academics as well as with their peers.
Personal: I live in Glen Ellyn with my husband, four children (ages 27-16), and my dog LuLu. I enjoy reading, biking, traveling, and meeting new people. I get the most pleasure out of making new friends. I enjoy hearing their stories and how it has made them who they are today. I can't wait to hear your story!
I look forward to meeting you and your family! Please feel free to call my extension (3388) or email me at the contact information to the left. I like to communicate with families through Class Dojo and my monthly newsletter. I also enjoy having parents come to my classroom to share something about your culture. Please reach out if you would like to come in. The children really enjoy this!
