The first day of the 2026-27 school year for students will be Thursday, August 20. Staff will start the school year with two planning days on Tuesday, August 18, and Wednesday, August 19.
The last day of the 2026-27 school year is scheduled to be a half day (morning attendance) on Wednesday, June 2, 2027, if no emergency days are used. If all five emergency days are used, the last day would be Wednesday, June 9, 2027.
There are three half-days (morning attendance) for students in the 2026-27 schedule: Friday, October 30; Friday, December 18, and the last day of the school year. The state of Illinois previously granted the district's waiver to combine several half-days into full days of professional development for staff. The decision to reduce the number of half days was the result of feedback from families.
The 2026-27 calendar was developed with input from families and staff members.
The Board is expected to vote on the 2027-28 school year calendar at the February 23 Board meeting.
