All CCSD 89 families are invited to bowl, play soccer, sing songs, and make crafts at the “Everybody Belongs: A CCSD 89 Family Night” event on Friday, September 19. The inclusive event will be from 4 to 6 p.m. in the upper gym and cafeteria at Glen Crest Middle School, 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn.
Students and families who attend the event will be able to participate in bowling and soccer games that have been adapted so students with disabilities can play alongside their peers.
In the cafeteria, students will sing songs, listen to music, and play instruments with a music therapist. Also in the cafeteria, there will be arts and crafts that students can make using marbles and plastic baggies.
This free event is open to everyone in the district.
