Community Consolidated School District 89 has begun the process of creating the district’s next strategic plan, the document that will guide the big-picture work of the district over the next five years.
The strategic plan will outline the priorities of the people most involved in the district: students, families, staff members, and district residents. Input from these four groups will help the district set goals that meet the community’s wants and needs.
As part of gathering that input, all four groups will be able to provide feedback through brief surveys.
The survey for family members was sent to all families via email on Monday, January 5. The community member survey is available here.
Students in third through eighth grades will have the opportunity to take a survey in school. The student survey can be viewed here. Staff members will receive the survey via their work email.
The district will also hold meetings with groups of students, staff, families, and residents.
The district's current strategic plan was designed to expire in 2026. (View the 2021-26 strategic plan) In December 2025, the CCSD 89 Board of Education voted to begin the process of developing a new strategic plan.
A proposed 2026-2031 strategic plan is expected to be presented to the Board of Education at the May 18 Board meeting.
