Volunteer to be a Hero of the Hallway!
Heroes of the Hallway presented by Watch D.O.G.S. is a school-based program that gives our Spartans’ families an opportunity to volunteer at Glen Crest during the school day, connect with students, and help make our hallways a positive and welcoming place for everyone.
This program is open to all trusted adults of our students: dads, moms, grandparents, aunts and uncles, chosen family and more! (You must be over 18 to participate.)
Whether you can volunteer for a full day, help out during lunch or passing periods, support a school event, or simply spend some time being a positive adult presence in our building, we would love to have you! Our goal is to build a strong team of volunteers who can help support our students and school community throughout the year. We’re also hoping to have our Heroes team make an appearance at an upcoming pep assembly!
Interested in joining us? Sign up here! Come be part of the Glen Crest community and show our students that their school is a place where adults come together to support them.
We hope to see you at Glen Crest! Go Spartans! | | | Want to see more photos from Glen Crest? Monday is #MiddleSchoolMonday on the district's social media! Follow along for a peek into our hallways: https://www.facebook.com/CCSD89 | | Potting Plants | |

| | District emergency test call planned for Friday, October 23 CCSD 89 will be conducting the annual test of the district's emergency phone contact system at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23. All families should expect to receive a call at this time to every guardian's phone number registered with the district. If you receive the call at the phone number you would like to be reached at in an emergency, there is nothing else you need to do. This call is a test only, designed to ensure that the district has accurate phone contacts for every student to be used in case of emergency. A reminder with full details will be sent to all families next week. | | Cheerleading Team Tryouts All athletes interested in trying out for Glen Crest Cheerleading should have received informational materials from Mrs. Semorile and Mrs. Hope at last week’s meeting.
Mandatory clinics will be held on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20 from 2:45–4:30 p.m. in the Lower Gym. Tryouts will take place on Wednesday, October 21 immediately after school. All athletes planning to try out must submit all completed paperwork and have an updated physical on file before participating.
Missed the meeting or have questions? Please contact Mrs. Semorile (lsemorile@ccsd89.org) or Mrs. Hope (ahope@ccsd89.org) for more information. | | Last call for D89 families to be a part of Culture Fair
