 | Absolute Location | Students working in groups to find absolute locations around the world in Mrs. Kornblith's Social Studies class. |
 | Telephone Lab | 8th grade science classes with Mr. Falson and Mrs. Sedlacek completed a lab to test sound waves. |
 | Glen Crest World Cup | All grade levels are competing in their PE classes for the next two weeks. Each grade level represents a country that has had a World Cup appearance and shares a team with the other two grade levels. Students are competitive while demonstrating positive sportsmanship. |

The Parent Advisory Group serves as a bridge between families and school administration, working collaboratively to enhance student belonging, review initiatives, and plan community engagement efforts. Vision and Hearing Screenings Vision and hearing screenings will take place on Thursday, October 1, with re-screenings on Thursday, October 15. All eighth-grade students will receive a vision screening. New students and students receiving special education services will receive both vision and hearing screenings. |

 | Intramural Basketball | 6th grade intramural basketball and flag football will run through October 7. The programs are held after school until the late bus. Students may come to as many dates as they wish.

6th Grade Halloween Social is October 16 Students, start planning your costumes now! The Halloween Social for all 6th graders is Friday, October 16 at Glen Crest. Join us for an evening of spooky fun, including snacks, games, music and haunted hallways. More details coming soon!
Donations & Volunteer Sign-Up: This major event for all 6th graders requires everyone's involvement to succeed. Please sign up to donate snacks, decorations or to volunteer for set up, chaperoning or take down.

Families can support bilingual education by joining district’s advisory committee Families of students in CCSD 89 English-language-learner programs are invited to join the district’s Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC). The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee provides ongoing recommendations to the district’s English-learner and bilingual programs. Members attend four meetings: one in person and three virtual. While the in-person meeting was already held earlier this month, new committee members are still welcome! Upcoming virtual meeting are scheduled for: November 18, 2026; January 27, 2027; and June 3, 2027. Teachers, counselors, and community leaders are also welcome.
