Five Glen Crest Middle School students will be competing in the 2026 Special Olympics Spring Games on Sunday, May 3, at Marmion Academy, 1000 Butterfield Road, Aurora. The event is open to the public.
The following Glen Crest athletes will compete Sunday:
Sixth grader Simra Khan will compete in the tennis ball throw and 50-meter run
Sixth grader Oliver Lamar will compete in the tennis ball throw and 50-meter run
Eighth grader Quinn Ruden will compete in the tennis ball throw and 50-meter run
Eighth grader Hazel Tieman will compete in the tennis ball throw
Eighth grader Eddie White will compete in the tennis ball throw and 50-meter run
The head coaches for Glen Crest Special Olympics are Glen Crest physical education teacher Kelly Tuggle and Kelly Nordlund.
The Spring Games will begin with an opening ceremony that includes the parade of athletes at 9 a.m. The opening ceremony will be followed by track and field events throughout the day. The Glen Crest athletes will participate in events between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
Parking is available on Marmion’s campus at Abbey Farms. A free shuttle service will run continuously to and from Abbey Farms. Concessions and souvenirs will be available for purchase at the event.
