Families interested in having their child enroll in Community Consolidated School District 89 preschool for the 2026-27 school year will be able to fill out pre-registration starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14. At that time, the preschool pre-registration link will be posted at: www.ccsd89.org/page/preschool-pre-registration
CCSD 89 offers a preschool program for 3- and 4-year-old children. The program, located at Briar Glen Elementary School, features a developmentally appropriate curriculum delivered by certified early childhood educators.
The district uses a blended preschool model where students with and without developmental needs learn alongside each other. The district participates in Preschool for All, which provides free school for those who meet the eligibility criteria. The district offers tuition spots to those who do not meet developmental or Preschool For All eligibility criteria.

There are limited openings available for 3- and 4-year-old children who live in the CCSD 89 attendance area. If there are more applicants than open seats, students will be admitted based on the order in which families completed pre-registration. Families are encouraged to complete pre-registration by Friday, February 13.
How to enroll
In order to enroll in the 2026-27 CCSD 89 preschool, parents must:
Complete pre-registration, including filling out the Preschool for All eligibility form (opens January 14)
Submit age and residency documents at Briar Glen (due by February 20)
Complete registration (opens April 8)

Pre-registration will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14. At that time, a link to complete pre-registration will be posted at this site: www.ccsd89.org/page/preschool-pre-registration
Age and residency documents
Families who complete pre-registration should then submit the following documents in person at Briar Glen Elementary (1800 Briarcliffe Boulevard, Wheaton) between January 19 and February 20:
An original birth certificate (not a photocopy)
The following residency documents:
CATEGORY ONE (one item): Current mortgage statement; signed lease agreement; real estate tax bill; or an affidavit from a local resident who attests to the registrant living with them at no cost (more information about those submitting an affidavit is available here)
CATEGORY TWO (two items): Current electric, gas, or water bill; driver’s license; home/rental insurance papers; auto registration; voter registration

Completing registration
Families will be notified in March about the next steps for preschool enrollment. If pre-registration is complete and the age and residency documents are submitted, families will be able to complete registration when it opens for all families in April.
In mid-March, families will receive a unique “SnapCode” in the U.S. mail that will allow them to complete registration when it opens on April 8.
Cost of preschool
The tuition for the 2026-27 school year will be $452 each month. A one-time registration fee of $132 will be sent to families once their enrollment is completed and confirmed. An invoice for a one-time registration fee of $177 ($79 registration fee, $53 snack/milk fee, and $45 technology fee) will be sent prior to the start of the new school year.
This year, all families will be required to fill out the Preschool For All eligibility form. This will help the district determine whether your family should be a tuition or Preschool for All family.
About registration
Registration for kindergarten and other students who will be new to the district in the 2026-27 school year will open on February 4. SnapCodes will be mailed to all families in mid-March, and registration will open for all new and returning families on April 8.
