Spartan Pumpkin Run on October 22 will support physical fitness 

The 15th annual Spartan Pumpkin Run will be held on Sunday, October 22, at Glen Crest Middle School, 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn. CCSD 89 students, families, and friends are invited to run or walk the 3.5-kilometer (2.1-mile) course that begins and ends at the middle school. 

The run will start at 10 a.m. in front of the school. The route winds through local neighborhoods and around the lake in Panfish Park. Some local roads will be temporarily closed during the race. (see map)

Registration is $20 for anyone who registers by October 5. Registration includes a shirt, one raffle ticket, and a water. Anyone who registers by noon on Thursday, October 5, will receive their shirt by the date of the run. 

Registration from October 6 through race day will be $25. Race-day registration will be in the Glen Crest main lobby from 9:15 to 9:50 a.m. Race-day registrants will receive a t-shirt about two weeks after the race.

Proceeds from the Pumpkin Run are used to support Glen Crest students by supplementing the costs of fitness-room equipment, team uniforms, intramural equipment, and interscholastic athletics. 

The Pumpkin Run will be held rain or shine. There are no refunds.

Elementary school students who participate must be accompanied by an adult. Children 4 years old and younger are free, but will not receive a t-shirt; however, families can purchase a shirt.
