Absences

To report an absence, call the school’s main number, then follow the prompts to the attendance line.

 

Arrival and dismissal

School principals will be sharing information in their weekly newsletters about arrival and dismissal procedures for each building.

 

Before- and after-school care

The Butterfield Park District (RecKids) and the B.R. Ryall YMCA (Safe 'n Sound) run before- and after-school programs for CCSD 89 elementary school students. More info: www.ccsd89.org/domain/1299

Class assignments

Handbook

The 2023-24 CCSD 89 Student/Parent Handbook is available at www.ccsd89.org/handbook Paper copies will be distributed to all students when school begins. Guardians must sign and return the acknowledgement form

Lunch info

Students will pay for lunches with their school ID, which is linked to MySchoolBucks. The cost for an elementary lunch will be $3.25, including a milk. A Glen Crest lunch will be $3.50, including a milk. If milk is purchased separately, it will cost 50 cents.

You can pay directly through MySchoolBucks. Some families prefer to link their MySchoolBucks and PowerSchool accounts but it is not required.

Lunch menus

When the school year starts, lunch menus will be available at www.fdmealplanner.com or by downloading the FDMealPlanner app. Type in your student’s school to find the menu. More info: https://bit.ly/45ifnJf

School hours

The school day at Glen Crest Middle School is 7:50 a.m. to 2:35 p.m. The school day for elementary school students is 8:50 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.

Transportation

First Student provides morning and afternoon bus routes for regular-education students. To qualify for regular-education busing, a student must live more than 1-1/2 miles from the school or need to cross a state-approved hazardous crossing. Special education transportation is managed by Hopewell Transportation. More info: www.ccsd89.org/transportation
