CCSD 89 students earn honors at IGSMA music competition
More than 30 band and orchestra students earned first- or second-place honors at the recent Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA) solo and ensemble contest. The contest was held Saturday, February 25, at Lake Park High School in Roselle.
The following students earned recognition:
First-place solos: Division I rating - perfect score

Horn duet: Icy Apura and Zoey Poi (both sixth grade)
Viola duet: Bayaan Said and Hazel Eberhart (both sixth grade)
Glen Crest band teachers Katie Berry and Lev Garbar, choir teacher Sam Koppitz; and orchestra teachers Kristi Kline and Andrew Ladendorf congratulated all the students for their hard work and dedication.
