Superintendent to speak at violence-prevention program on September 22
At an upcoming forum, Community Consolidated School District 89 Superintendent Dr. Emily Tammaru and four other local superintendents will share information about the proactive ways school districts try to prevent violence.
The League of Women Voters will host “Preventing Gun Violence Through A Community of Care” at 7 p.m., on Thursday, September 22, at Hadley Junior High, 240 Hawthorne Boulevard, Glen Ellyn. The presentation is free and open to the community. Reservations are not required.
The program will begin with a presentation from social workers about how schools work to prevent violence in the community.
