Provide feedback about the 2022-23 academic calendar
The Community Consolidated School District 89 Board of Education would like feedback from families and staff about the 2022-23 calendar before it goes to the Board of Education for approval.
The Board usually approves the next year’s school calendar in the fall. The board is expected to consider the 2022-23 calendar in December. The calendar for the 2021-22 school year has already been approved and will not be changed. (See the 2021-22 calendar)
While some aspects of the calendar (such as the number of school days) are set by law, the district welcomes community and staff feedback on other areas, such as the start date and school breaks.
Please take this short, anonymous ThoughtExchange survey. The survey begins with two demographic questions and one question about whether the break at Thanksgiving should be extended to a full week.
After answering those questions, families are invited to provide additional calendar feedback through a ThoughtExchange. A ThoughtExchange has two parts: First, you share thoughts, celebrations, or concerns about the CCSD 89 academic calendar. Then, you rate ideas that other people have shared. (No one else will be able to see who shared the comment.) You can learn more about how a ThoughtExchange works here: https://youtu.be/a1Z-CAONdGo
The ThoughtExchange will close at 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 12. Your feedback will be considered when developing the 2022-23 and future calendars.
A link to the survey was sent via email at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 2. If you need the link, send an email to info@ccsd89.org.
