Annual tax levy hearing will be held December 16

A notice in the Daily Herald included the incorrect date for the district's annual tax-levy hearing. The hearing will be held December 16, 2019. The hearing will be held before the December 16 Board of Education meeting

The levy hearing is an annual function is a request to the county for the total dollars needed to provide quality educational services to students for the 2020-21 school year.

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for Community Consolidated School District Number 89, DuPage County, Illinois for 2019 will be held on December 16, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at District Administration Office, 22W600 Butterfield Rd., Glen Ellyn, Illinois, 60137.

Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Maureen A. Jones, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations, at 22W600 Butterfield Rd., Glen Ellyn, Illinois, (630) 469-8900.

The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for the year 2018 were $28,520,607.69.          

The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for the year 2019 are $29,622,000.00. This represents a 3.86% increase over the previous year.

The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for the year 2018 were $2,774,627.35.

The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for the year 2019 are $3,372,000.00. This represents a 21.53% increase over the previous year.

The total property taxes extended or abated for the year 2018 were $31,295,235.04.

The estimated total property taxes to be levied for the year 2019 are $32,994,000.00. This represents a 5.43% increase over the previous year.
