Keep reading! There’s lots of places to check out books this summer

Students reading a library Summer is the perfect time to relax and enjoy a great book. There are a ton of convenient places to find something to read during the summer - including at one of our CCSD 89 schools!

District 89 Summer Library

Students from across the district are invited to check out books from the library at Park View Elementary School, 250 S. Park Boulevard, Glen Ellyn.

The library is open 9 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from June 10 to July 10. Students can check out up to five books for two weeks.

Any students currently enrolled in the CCSD 89 (students who were in preschool through seventh grade during the 2018-19 school year) are invited to check out books.

Children younger than eight must be with an adult.

Drop-in crafts are available. Every Tuesday, volunteers will bring in dogs so students can read with furry friends. The students are often so excited to read with the dogs, they forget to be nervous about reading.

The local public libraries have summer reading programs that include activities and prizes. Check out their websites for more information!
