Box Tops & Dimes
CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Corrigan’s 5th grade class…they submitted the most Box Tops & Dimes for the Spring! They will receive a special class snack to thank them for all of their efforts!
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the Arbor View families who participated in the Box Tops & Dimes collections this past year. Because of our efforts, we collected over $1450! Arbor View PTC funds many of the school assemblies, Back to School Bash, Art Smart, Dr. Bruno’s Birthday Books, the Variety Show and so much more! The money raised from Box Tops & Dimes goes to fund these important activities.
Please continue to collect Box Tops & save those dimes…we will need them next fall! Thank you again!

FAMILY BOWLING
Mark your calendars for Saturday April 6th (date change from March 9th)! We’re having a family bowling day at Fox Bowl again this year!! Come by for bowling, food and drinks to support Arbor View! See attached flyer!
You are invited to enjoy your breakfast on Saturday, April 13th between 9am-12pm at the Music Cafe!
The Cafe (located in the Glen Crest gym) will feature entertainment throughout the morning by D89 band, orchestra and choral students from the elementary and middle school levels.
Your ticket gives you admission to this event to enjoy the entertainment as long as you'd like, with the option to sip a beverage (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate) and partake in a breakfast pastry! Performing students DO NOT need a ticket. All D89 music students will be selling tickets to this event beginning the week of March 4th - $6 each or 4 for $20. (Tickets will be $7 at the door.)
Donations of time and food items for this event are greatly appreciated! Please follow this link at Signupgenius.com to donate. The Music Cafe will help raise money towards instruments and sheet music for all D89 students. Scouting For Food 2019
Pack 55 Cub Scouts are collecting food donations for People’s Resource Center in Wheaton. On Saturday, March 16th, Scouts will go door to door in the Valley to leave bags and flyers for donations. We will then be back to collect donations on the morning of March 23rd at 9am. We have set up collection boxes at Arbor View for those wishing to donate but are unable to leave food out on the 23rd or do not live in the Valley. Donation boxes will be at Arbor View until March 22nd. Please see the attached flyer for more details!

The Glenbard Parent Series hosts free, local talks with insights on students and parenting. The next speaker is VaLarie Humphrey, a college retention specialist who motivates students to overcome feelings of negative self worth and meet the demands of college and career. Families with students who will be new to CCSD 89 or starting kindergarten in 2019-20 may now begin the pre-registration process. Registration for returning students will open April 3. More info: http://bit.ly/2GbEYfm
Families can now enroll in the Head Start preschool program. CCSD 89 partners with Head Start to offer preschool designed to close the learning gaps for students from low-income families. The Head Start preschool classroom is open to qualifying 3- to 5-year-old students. In general, students in the free program are children who have an identified educational need, but cannot pay for the district’s typically developing preschool program. Success comes with many failures and your kids need to be prepared. Parents are invited to a free presentation about the importance of failure in helping students become resilient and motivated. Adam Russo, an author and the CEO of Edgewood Clinical Services, will speak at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at Glen Crest Middle School, 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn.
