2025-26 preschool pre-registration is now open

Families interested in having their child start Community Consolidated School District 89 preschool in the 2025-26 school year can now fill out pre-registration.

At 9 a.m. on January 15, the preschool pre-registration was posted on this page: https://www.ccsd89.org/Page/826 Both families that pay tuition and families who may be eligible for free preschool through the federal Preschool For All program should fill out pre-registration.

CCSD 89 offers preschool for 3- and 4-year-old children. The program, located at Briar Glen Elementary School, features a developmentally appropriate curriculum delivered by certified early childhood educators. For more information on CCSD 89 preschool, please visit the CCSD 89 preschool webpage.

Preschool classes take place Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 11:10 a.m., or 12:30 to 3:10 p.m.

There are limited openings available for 3- and 4-year-old children who live in the CCSD 89 attendance area. Students will be admitted based on the order that families complete the pre-registration form. Anyone not selected in the initial opening will be placed on a waitlist. 

Preschool pre-registration will close on Friday, January 31.

 

How to enroll

In order to enroll in the 2025-26 CCSD 89 preschool, parents must:

 

Age and residency documents

Preschool families who complete the pre-registration should then make an appointment between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on a weekday to submit residency documents at Briar Glen Elementary (1800 Briarcliffe Boulevard, Wheaton). The following documents are needed: 

  • An original birth certificate (not a photocopy)

  • The following residency documents:

    • CATEGORY ONE (one item): Current mortgage statement, signed lease agreement, real estate tax bill, or an affidavit from a local resident who attests to the registrant living with them at no cost (more information about those submitting an affidavit is available here)

    • CATEGORY TWO (two items): Current electric, gas, or water bill; driver’s license; home/rental insurance papers; Illinois Vehicle registration card; voter registration

Documents must be submitted to Briar Glen by 4 p.m. on February 10.

 

Completing registration

Once pre-registration is complete and the age and residency documents are submitted, families will be able to complete registration when it opens for all families in April.

Families will receive a unique “SnapCode” in the U.S. mail that will allow them to complete registration on April 9.

 

Preschool tuition

The tuition for the 2025-26 school year will be $430 each month. An invoice for a one-time registration fee of $160 ($75 registration fee, $50 snack/milk fee, and $35 technology fee) will be sent prior to the start of the new school year. 

The district also offers free preschool to families that qualify through the Preschool for All federal program. Preschool For All provides funding to families who demonstrate needs related to income, housing, cultural/linguistic, social factors and/or health.

About registration

Registration for kindergarten and other students who will be new to the district in the 2025-26 school year will open on February 5. SnapCodes will be mailed to all families in March, and registration will open for all new and returning families on April 9.
