Pack the house for January 17 unified basketball game

Students, families, and community members are invited to cheer on the CCSD 89 unified basketball team during their “pack the house” game at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, January 17, at Glen Crest Middle School.

A unified basketball team includes students who qualify for Special Olympics playing on the same team as peer buddies. The CCSD 89 team includes both elementary and middle school students. 

The team’s coaches are CCSD 89 board-certified behavior analyst Maddy Potempa and Illinois Autism Partnership manager of training Sarah Smith.

There is no admission to the game at Glen Crest. 

The CCSD 89 unified basketball team is scheduled to play two other regular season games: 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 7, at Leman Middle School, 238 E. Hazel Street, West Chicago; and 9 a.m. to noon for the Jay Stream Middle School Tournament at 283 El Paso Lane, Carol Stream.
