Families were sent student fee invoices via email on August 7
On Wednesday, August 7, all CCSD 89 families were sent an emailed invoice from MySchoolBucks requesting payment for 2024-25 school fees. The invoice came from the email address: “do-not-reply@myschoolbucks.com”. As a reminder, school fees were not paid during registration.
MySchoolBucks is used for school payments, such as fees and lunches. The invoice will be for required items only. Families can also pay for optional items (such as gym clothes, lockers, and recorders) through the MySchoolBucks school store. That store is also accessible through PowerSchool.
If you do not receive an invoice from MySchoolBucks by Thursday, August 8, please check your junk mail or spam folder. You may also need to confirm that the school has an accurate email address for your family.
Setting up a MySchoolBucks account
If you have not previously used MySchoolBucks, start at the MySchoolBucks homepage, then choose “Sign Up Free” from the left side of the page.
Next, enter your email address, phone number, and create a password. The system will send you an email to allow you to log in to the MySchoolBucks site.
Select “Illinois” then “Community Consolidated School District 89” from the drop-down menus. To find your student’s invoices and the school store, enter your student’s first and last name as it appears in PowerSchool. This would be the name you registered your student under. The system will then ask for your student’s birthdate or school ID number.
From there, you will see any invoices listed at the top of the page. To pay for optional items (such as locks, gym uniforms, and recorders), choose “School Store” and then “Store Home” from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Check out by using the cart at the top of the page.
Setting up a PowerSchool account
Families that used MySchoolBucks last year may have already linked their account to MySchoolBucks. Most returning CCSD 89 families will have already created their free PowerSchool account.
On July 31, the district sent a letter in the U.S. Mail to all the families that have not created a PowerSchool account. The letter gives instructions on starting a PowerSchool account. The letter included an “Access ID” that is unique to you. This will allow you to log in for the first time.
PowerSchool will also be used to see bus routes, grades, and teacher assignments when they are made available on Wednesday, August 14.
