Seventh grade students can apply to be a 2019-20 Student Board Member
Seventh grade students can now apply to be one of the 2019-20 Student Representatives to the Board of Education. The Student Board Members will represent their classmates at monthly Board of Education meetings.
All applicants will be interviewed and two students will be selected as the district’s first Student Representatives to the Board of Education. The Community Consolidated School District 89 Student Board Member program is designed to give students a greater voice in the district’s vision and planning.
While the Student Board Members will not vote, they will provide important insights on life as a student in CCSD 89. They will discuss their school experiences, including what motivates them, the challenges they face, and the successes they’ve accomplished.
Glen Crest students who will be in eighth grade during the 2019-20 school year are eligible to apply to serve as Student Board Members. Student Board Members will be expected to attend the once-a-month Board meetings, which start at 7 p.m.
More information about the expectations for this position are included in the application which can be downloaded here.
The entire application, including the letters, must be turned in to Glen Crest Principal Kim Price by 3 p.m. April 30, 2019.
