Families can now request 2017-18 preschool registration packets

Families interested in registering their child for preschool in the 2017-18 school year can now request an information packet. The packets will be turned in at the January 26 preschool registration event.

To start the preschool registration process, call Jaclyn Ackerman at (630) 469-5505 and request a pre-enrollment packet. Anyone who calls will be added to the mailing list and will receive a packet in January. The packets can be turned in at the registration event, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. January 26 at Arbor View School. Packets will not be accepted before that date.

The CCSD 89 preschool program is located at Arbor View Elementary School, 22W430 Ironwood Drive, Glen Ellyn. The program features developmentally appropriate curriculum delivered by early childhood educators. The preschool is open to families that live within CCSD 89 boundaries.

The District offers four- and five-day per-week programs. The half-day preschool classes take place either Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Friday, from 8:30 to 11:10 a.m., or 12:30 to 3:10 p.m.

For the 2017-18 school year, there will be limited openings for 3- and 4-year-old children. Once the District receives the registration packet, required paperwork, and yearly fees, families will be placed in a lottery. Families that are selected through the lottery will be notified by mail in mid-February. Families not selected in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list.

Returning preschool students do not participate in the lottery and will register with all other returning students.
