Be sure your student is prepared for this week’s heat

Temperatures are forecast to be very warm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week. The district expects all schools will be in session so be sure your student is prepared for the weather.

Water bottles are allowed in school and students are encouraged to bring water. The schools will also have water available to students.

As mentioned in the Student/Parent Handbook, students will remain indoors for recess and physical education if the "feels like" temperature is 100 degrees or greater, as measured by weather.com. There is a strong chance that students will be inside for recess and physical education on Monday and Tuesday, especially in the afternoon.

Our staff will be monitoring students for any signs of distress. Our buildings and grounds team has all five schools prepared to handle the warm temperatures. If there are any further updates, the district would contact you by email or phone.
