Video: GECRC program supports Glen Crest learners
At the November 2021 Board of Education meeting, Glen Crest Middle School highlighted its after-school mentoring and tutoring program. The program is run in partnership with the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center (GECRC).
The program started virtually last fall due to the pandemic, but now takes place at the school from 2:45 - 3:45 pm. Monday through Thursday.
The video below shares more information about this program.
The Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center is largely funded by donations and staffed by volunteers. To donate or volunteer with the GECRC, go to: www.gecrc.com.
In 2019, GECRC launched a CCSD 89 Expansion committee, composed of GECRC board members, CCSD 89 administrators, and local community members. The group’s goal was to raise $60,000 to fund two years of programming at Glen Crest Middle School. In 2021, they met and exceeded the expansion fundraising goal.
