Blood donation is a simple four-step process: registration, medical history, donation, and refreshment. Blood donation usually takes about 10 to 12 minutes. Donors can speed up the process by using VersiPASS, which allows them to fill out basic medical screening questions from their phone the morning of their donation. The lives of approximately 4.5 million Americans are saved each year by blood transfusions. At the January 8 Glen Crest blood drive, 46 units were collected - the largest turnout since 2015.

Glen Crest is located at 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn. A photo ID is required to donate blood. The Colonial Café gift card will expire March 31.

Glen Crest will host blood drives on May 6, August 26, and November 11.
