Spartan Pumpkin Run on October 20 will support physical fitness
Community Consolidated School District 89 students and families are invited to participate in the 11th annual Spartan Pumpkin Run at Glen Crest Middle School on Sunday, October 20. The 3.5-kilometer (2.1-mile) run is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. outside the middle school at 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn.
Proceeds from the Pumpkin Run are used to support Glen Crest students by supplementing the costs of fitness-room equipment, team uniforms, and intramural equipment.
The run/walk is open to members of the community. The deadline for early registration is Wednesday, October 9. Early registration costs $15. Early registrants will receive their shirt by the date of the run. Registration includes a shirt, one raffle ticket, and a bottled water.
Race-day registration will be in the Glen Crest main lobby from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Race-day registration is $20. Race-day registrants will receive a t-shirt about one week after the race.

Elementary school students must be accompanied by an adult. Children 4 years old and younger are free, but will not receive a t-shirt.
The run/walk starts and finishes at the middle school. The route winds through local neighborhoods and around the lake in Panfish Park. Some local roads will be temporarily closed during the race.
The Pumpkin Run will be held rain or shine. There are no refunds available.
