Parents are invited to a free presentation about the importance of failure in helping students become resilient and motivated. Adam Russo, the CEO of Edgewood Clinical Services, will speak at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at Glen Crest Middle School, 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn.
Russo is the author of the book “Unwritten Rules: Real Strategies to Parent Your Child into a Successful Adult”. He has given a TEDx Naperville talk about “We Must Teach Our Kids to Fail” which can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/7uOmb9SyoGA
“Families and students will learn a lot of from Adam,” said Glen Crest Principal Kim Price. “He’s a very exciting speaker who will help our students understand that while failure is often painful, it is also a powerful opportunity for growth.”
Russo was an administrator in a behavioral health facility when he founded Edgewood Clinical Services, an organization that provides counseling and mental-health services. He has provided clinical services to inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings. He has a long background of speaking to parents about the challenges their students will face and how they can overcome obstacles.
Families of CCSD 89 students of all ages are invited to the event, which will last about an hour. The program is sponsored by CCSD 89 and Glenbard South High School.
