Arbor View student wins statewide art contest
Congratulations to Arbor View third-grade student Savannah Schroeder, who was selected as one of the winners in a statewide art contest!
Hundreds of third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade students submitted entries to the “Water Keeps Life Flowing” student art contest. On Wednesday, January 22, Savannah was surprised in class by officials from Illinois American Water who announced that her drawing was one of just 10 Illinois winners selected.
The officials presented Savannah with a poster-sized version of her art, which will be featured on future Illinois American Water customer communications. In addition, Savannah’s classmates all received backpack prizes and the classroom received a $100 donation for school supplies.
“We are completely inspired by the creative ways students used their love of art and understanding of science to showcase the importance of clean, safe, and reliable water service,” said Rebecca Losli, president of Illinois American Water.
American Water is the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the United States. With a history dating back to 1886, they provide drinking water and wastewater services to more than 14 million people in 14 states and on 18 military installations.
