District honored for excellence in financial reporting, transparency

The Association of School Business Officials has awarded Community Consolidated School District 89 with the Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting, the organization’s highest honor for transparency and integrity. This is the 24^th consecutive year the district has earned the ASBO Certificate of Excellence.

Maureen Jones has been the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations since 2010.

“Our district’s finance department has done an excellent job providing the resources that each student needs to be successful while also ensuring that we are responsible with taxpayer dollars,” said CCSD 89 superintendent Doug Eccarius. “I appreciate the work of Maureen Jones and her team to continually meet these high standards.”

ASBO International is a professional organization with approximately 5,000 members. ASBO provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of business practices, professional growth, and effective use of educational resources.

The ASBO recognition demonstrates CCSD 89’s commitment to transparency and fiscal integrity. The recognition can help the district earn a better bond rating.

In addition to Jones, the CCSD 89 Finance Department includes Accounting Coordinator Lauren Parker, Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist Jill Urso, and Finance Office Assistant Courtney Czerwinski.
