Board approves revisions to 2020-21 district calendar
At a meeting held Monday, the Community Consolidated School District 89 Board of Education approved some slight modifications to the 2020-21 school year calendar. The revised calendar can be viewed here: www.ccsd89.org/calendarPDF
Students will no longer attend in-person or remotely on four days (January 4, February 5, March 26, and April 30) that were previously scheduled for student attendance. January 15 had been a half day but will now be a full day of student attendance.
The changes include:
- January 4 – no student attendance: There will be no student attendance on January 4. This will be a school improvement half day, and a remote-learning half day.
- January 15 – students in attendance: Students will be in attendance on January 15. A half day of student attendance was changed to a full day of student attendance.
- February 5 – no student attendance: There will be no student attendance on February 5. A half day of student attendance was changed to a full day of no attendance. The day will be half parent/teacher conferences, half remote planning.
- March 26 – no student attendance: There will be no student attendance on March 26. A half day of student attendance was changed to a full day of no attendance. The day will be half school improvement, half remote planning.
- April 30 – no student attendance: There will be no student attendance on April 30. A half day of student attendance was changed to a full day of no attendance. The day will be half school improvement, half remote planning.
The state of Illinois granted all school district five remote planning days in 2020-21 to give teachers time to adjust their curriculum to remote learning.
