COVID-19 notifications

  • Community Consolidated School District 89 will notify families when a staff member or student who tests positive for COVID-19 was in the building. The district will work with the DuPage County Health Department to conduct contact tracing for any staff or students who may be directly affected.

Staff or families of students who have had close contact (defined as within three feet for 15 minutes cumulatively) will be contacted by phone as well as a separate communication with instructions on whether you need to quarantine. If you do not receive a communication, you are not a close contact. If you have further questions, please reach out to your building principal.

The district reviews school data with the DuPage County Health Department.

    CCSD 89 historical data

Parents are asked to call the school nurse if your student is: COVID-19 positive, in quarantine because they were a close contact, or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

Please note: "2021-22 cases" only include students/staff members who were in the building then subsequently tested positive. At the beginning of the year, there may be some cases included on the list from students who had not yet returned to school. Those students will not be moved to 2021-22 cases.

Students/staff quarantine when they have been a close contact with a positive COVID-19 case, either in or outside of school, but have not tested positive.

Decisions related to in-person learning are done in consultation with the DuPage County Health Department, and following the Illinois Department of Public Health and CDC guidance. In addition to DuPage County health metrics, the district monitors cases in Glen Ellyn, Lombard, and Wheaton. The district reviews cases and absences among students and staff. The district will continue to enforce wearing masks, social distancing, and frequent hand washing.
