Mrs. Baker

Hey there! My name is Kaitlyn Baker and I am the Quarantine/Isolation Teacher and have been with CCSD 89 since 2020. I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2012 with my degree in law enforcement. That means teaching is my second career, as my first one was as a police officer. After I left the force, I decided to give substitute teaching a try and I fell in love. I went to Trinity Christian College and received my license in elementary education when I graduated in May of 2020. 

In my spare time, I like to go on new adventures with my husband Adam, especially concerts and small road trips. I love to spend time cooking, watching cooking shows, doing arts and crafts with my daughter Bailey, playing with our new son Timmy who was born in March 2021, and playing with our dog Coco.

I am a huge nerd who loves everything Halloween, Disney, Marvel (especially Captain America), Harry Potter, The X-Files, and anything science-related. I'm also a huge history buff, who is fascinated with the time period of the American Revolution, which obviously makes me a giant fan of Hamilton the Musical. My favorite time of the year is fall, where you can find me at a pumpkin farm or cheering on the Chicago Bears.
